Ng Kim Bok & H'ng Soo Chiew charged for Klang Valley oil spill that affected more than 1 million #KLChronicle

A couple was charged today at the Shah Alam Sessions Court with causing the oil spill in Sungai Selangor three weeks ago that left more than a million Klang Valley consumers without water for at least a day, and some even more than that.



Ng Kim Bok, 55, was charged with 30 counts under the Environment Quality Act 1974 and the Selangor Water Management Authority Enactment, while his wife, H'ng Soo Chiew, 56, was jointly charged with 20 counts.

The charges were brought against them as owner (for Ng) and directors (for both) of three companies. The companies are Muhibbah Mok Workshop, Muhibbah Mok Sdn Bhd and Ng Kim Bok Realty Sdn Bhd.

Muhibbah Mok Workshop is located at the spot where the spillage occurred. Muhibbah Mok Sdn Bhd is the parent company of the workshop, while Ng Kim Bok Realty owns the land.
Both claimed trial to the charges. - September 17, 2013.
