KTMB Instructed to Partially Close Gemas - Gua Musang Railway Line

Due to the latest train derailment of Express Wau  from Kuala Lumpur to Tumpat on the 8th of July 2014 at Kemayan, KTMB has today been instructed to partially close the Gemas-Gua Musang Railway line. This is to allow KTMB to continue monitoring and execute repair works on the affected lines during the day before allowing trains to operate at night. The previous article can be read [HERE].

Penulis dikejutkan dengan berita bahawa Perkhidmatan KTM Intercity di Pantai Timur pada mengalami gangguan selepas Tren No 28 Ekspres Wau dari Kuala Lumpur ke Tumpat, Kelantan mengalami kegelinciran pada 1.50 pagi. Umum ketahui bahawa landasan keretapi Pantai Timur sememangnya mengalami "masalah" [Rujuk DISINI] dimana keadaan landasan Gemas-Gua Musang tidak selamat.

On the 19th of June 2014, i had written an article [http://thekl-chronicle.blogspot.com/2014/06/safety-of-ktmb-railway-line-from-gemas.html]  highlighting my concerns on the Safety of KTMB Railway Line from Gemas to Gua Musang. As we are aware, The East Cost line was opened on the 5th of September 1931, which up till today has been in operation for a whopping 83 years. Due to this, it is inevitable that there will be security issues arising from this line as it has exceeded its design life.

Saya terpanggil untuk menulis satu response terhadap kenyataan tidak bertanggungjawab yang dikeluarkan oleh Railway Union Malaysia (RUM) yang dilihat lebih sibuk menjaga kepentingan Pengerusi Lembaga Pengarah Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) berbanding dengan keselamatan hampir 509,000 penumpang yang menggunakan perkhidmatan KTMB bagi sektor pantai timur.
