The much-awaited multi-million ringgit Ampang Multi-Level Car Park, which provides park and travel solutions for the high density Ampang residential areas, is now officially opened. The opening ceremony was officiated by Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tan Sri Haji Muhyiddin Bin Haji Yassin this morning.
Situated next to RapidKL Ampang LRT Station, the facility is five-storey complex that provides 1,140 parking bays for cars including 144 bays exclusively for ladies and 20 for those with disability plus 200 motorcycle bays on the ground floor.
Quoting Encik Rudyanto Azhar, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Prasarana Integrated Development Sdn Bhd (Pride) :
"With the opening of the complex, we hope that it would boost the ridership figures for RapidKL Ampang Line, which manages a ridership of more than 200,000 passengers daily. We hope more people to switch to public transport and adopt the park and ride attitude for smoother and hassle-free travel into the city.
"Everybody in Kuala Lumpur knows Jalan Ampang's traffic nightmare especially during the morning and evening peak hours. And, it gets worse when there's rain. With the park and ride facilities, they can escape this jam by using our LRT,"
