Four students were injured when a military Nuri helicopter crashed onto a school building that was under construction in Balung here. At least 13 soldiers were on board the Royal Malaysian Air Force aircraft when it came down. The crash sent many scurrying for safety at the SMK Balung compound, located about 40km away from Tawau.
The air force officers and personnel were also injured in the crash at about 9.15am. District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Fadil Marsus had earlier confirmed the crash before rushing to the scene. Nuri helicopters are dispatched here on detachment, to beef up security in the east coast of Sabah, from the RMAF squadron in Kuching. MORE TO COME
