Kadamaian state assemblyman Jeremmy Malajad's decision to quit Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) showed that the latter was losing confidence among its members, according to Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman.
"The Kadamaian member has quit the PKR; more will follow suit after losing confidence in the party and realising that they can help and serve the people if they work together with the Barisan Nasional (BN)," he told reporters at the state-level Maal Hijrah celebrations graced by Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin at Dewan Sa'adah, Wisma Muis here today.
Jeremmy, who was the state PKR information chief, was joined by 50 other members in leaving the party.
He said the BN's capability to resolve various issues that were raised in the 13th general election (GE13) prompted him to reassess his position as a PKR representive.
In the GE13, Jeremmy obtained 5,877 votes to defeat incumbent BN's Timbon @ Herbert Langadan who received 4,988 votes in a four-cornered fight.
Meanwhile, Matunggong state assemblyman Datuk Jelani Hamdan is expected to announce a similar decision in a media conference this week; Luyang state assemblyman Hiew King Cheu quit the DAP last September. - Bernama, November 5, 2013.
