It is mid-morning and vote casting for the 13thGeneral Election (GE13) are well under way.
Over the last few days, both sides of the divide have expressed confidence in winning GE13. Below are some of the 'hot' parliamentary seats among a listed 118 that ruling coalition Barisan Nasional (BN) believed they are able to secure, made known to Malaysian Digest by internal BN-friendly sources.
* In Arau, Perlis, former Perlis Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim is expected to win the seat against PAS deputy spiritual leader Datuk Haron Din.
* In Rembau, Negri Sembilan, Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin is expected to retain his seat against PKR’s Radzali A. Ghani and independent candidate Abdul Aziz Hassan.
* In the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, FT and Urban Wellbeing Minister Datuk Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin is expected to steal the seat from PKR vice-president and incumbent MP Nurul Izzah Anwar. In Setiawangsa, Ahmad Fauzi Zahari is expected to win against PKR’s Ibrahim Yaacob while Johari Abdul Ghani is expected to win against PAS’ young candidate Ahmad Zamri Asa’ad Khuzami in Ttitiwangsa.
* In Putrajaya, Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor will win the battle against PAS vice-president Datuk Husam Musa.
* In Johor, Deputy Prime Minister and BN deputy chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is expected to easily win his Pagoh seat against PAS’ Mohamad Rozali Jamil. The same is expected of Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein in Sembrong, who is competing against PKR’s Onn Abu Bakar.
* In Shah Alam, Selangor, former Opposition Zul Noordin, who is contesting under a BN ticket, is expected a victory over PAS strongman Khalid Samad.
