A REPLY TO ANWAR IBRAHIM – WE ARE A DEMOCRACY (PART 1)

I was taken aback by Anwar Ibrahim comments in the Financial Times and Malaysian Insider on a piece entitled “Muslim’s want democracy”.  What interested me most is the three (3) particular issues below:

  1. Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, ousted Arab despots and by implication Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak is out of touch with the new wave of uprising in the Middle East
  2. Focused on improving the country’s economy based on American philosopher John Rawls’ model — based on treating everyone impartially equal
  3. I’m a Muslim. People ask, ‘Do you believe in the Quran?’ and I can say ‘Yes’.
Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, ousted Arab despots and by implication Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak is out of touch with the new wave of uprising in the Middle East.

To say that the Prime Minister and Tun Mahathir is out of touch with the new wave of uprising is a blatant lie by the opposition leader. Tun Mahathir and the PM has commented extensively on the issues in the middle east. However, what we did not do, and which I agree with is that we did not interfere in the internal issues of the countries involved in the Arab Spring.

The person who is out of touch with the Malaysia Electorate is actually the opposition leader. Time and time again he has voiced his confidence that his broken 3 party coalition “Pakatan Rakyat” will take over the government. This is again a blatant disregard of public opinion, and reminds me of two (2) opposition parties that had used the same tactic in their country elections. Read the Green Movement of Iran and the Ukraine Orange revolution. The similarities between both this parties are that THEY ANNOUNCED THAT THEY ARE CONFIDENT OF WINNING THE ELECTION, BUT WHEN THEY LOST, THEY STARTED RIOTS IN THE STREETS OF BOTH TEHRAN AND KIEV THROWING INSULTS TO THE GOVERNMENT FOR MANIPULATING THE ELECTION.

Anwar Ibrahim is actually doing the same thing now, and I believe after the General Election (GE), his party will go to the streets crying that the election has been manipulated and the results were rigged in favor of Barisan Nasional (BN). Well I hope it does not happen, but if it did, well at least I was spot on in my assessment of the opposition leader.

Well,

The oppossition leaders are being vain when they say Tun Mahathir is out of touch with the new wave of uprising.

Guess they were having a holiday in MARS, when the new EGYPT Government invited Tun Mahathir to give a talk on their new found DEMOCRAY state.
