@weekasiongmp : Views of Ling Liong Sik on PM @NajibRazak is personal, not official party stand

MCA will stand firm with the government in facing criticism
A few days ago, Dr. Mahathir's staunchest ally and one-time MCA President Ling Liong Sik issued a statement asking for Prime Minister Dato Seri Haji Najib Tun Razak to resign echoing the statement made by his former boss. We at #KLChronicle would like to share our opinion on this as it affects the credibility and standing of the current MCA leadership in the Barisan Nasional "family'.

Firstly, the reason Ling Liong Sik wants Prime Minister Dato Seri Haji Najib Tun Razak to resign is because, according to Ling Liong Sik "He (Najib) has taken people’s money and put it in his own personal accounts,” (Reference : FMT) . This accusation is plain stupid and insults the intelligence of all Malaysians. Did Ling Liong Sik missed the press statement from  MACC that the agency has cleared PM Najib Razak of any wrong doing (Reference : BBC)

Secondly, Ling Liong Sik did not provide any evidence to back up his claims. He just allege or worse "fitnah" the Prime Minister without actually providing any evidence. It is just like we are saying that Ling Liong Sik's son Ling Hee Leong who was alleged to have amassed RM 1.3 Billion in corporate wealth (Reference : Lim Kit Siang) and that he stole the money from the Rakyat. However, as a responsible news entity we at the #KLChronicle do not do slander and fitnah as it will tarnish our brand name.

However, we would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the current MCA leadership, especially Datuk Seri Dr. Wee Ka Siong for standing firm and insisting that the statement by Ling Liong Sik was his personal opinion and not that of the party (Reference : Awani). This is very refreshing and encouraging. It is a known fact that Ling Liong Sik has worked very long with Dr. Mahathir and tends to follow his boss rather than have an opinion by himself.

Finally, we would also like to thank MCA for standing by the government in facing criticism. As this is the essence of collective responsibility within the cabinet and also the Barisan Nasional coalition. Although criticism of the government is relentless, BN and MCA has shown that it continue to work and function for the wellbeing of the general public. This must continue.
