@LiowTiongLai conveys Chinese New Year greetings to Malaysians, stay "Stronger,Together"

With the current grassroots support that the current MCA President have, kami percaya prestasi MCA akan bertambah baik dan menjadi lebih kuat seterusnya memperkuatkan Barisan Nasional.

Sekali lagi, Happy Chinese New Year and lets stay "Stronger,Together
"

Chinese New Year Message

Liow: Together we can!

A very happy and prosperous Chinese New Year to everyone!

Today is an auspicious time for us to take a step forward and welcome new beginnings with renewed spirit and optimism. As we look forward to fresh opportunities at the onset of the Lunar New Year, let us take a moment to recollect the lessons learnt over the past year.

Indeed, the road our nation travelled on has been paved with trials and tribulations. But we persevered and came together as a united team to overcome it all and emerged stronger. MCA stands by the people of Malaysia and continues to champion the cause of Malaysian Chinese across the nation.

I have three wishes for the year ahead. Firstly, I would like to see a breakthrough in the economy for a sustainable national development; secondly, unprecedented solidarity in politics demonstrated through moderation for the sake of our future generation and lastly, the further strengthening of education to nurture more talent for our beloved country.

The ‘Stronger Together’ campaign was launched by MCA to forge unity between all races. Our brainchild ‘Civilisation Hub’ envisaged closer economic co-operation between the multi-racial businesses to boldly venture into international markets, armed with each communities’ respective strengths and networks. What more, MCA will work hand-in-hand with the community to affirm a five-year economic plan within this year to take the community to greater heights.

During the recent flood crisis in the East Coast, as a nation, we responded immediately to assist our fellow Malaysians as the floods reached critical levels. We truly emulated the spirit of 'Stronger, Together' as we worked side by side with selfless volunteers to provide humanitarian aid to the victims.

We are also alarmed that extremist statements have been more rampant, putting our social harmony and national unity in jeopardy. However, we are pleased to see the emergence of moderation movements nationwide and support such noble cause to fight extremism at all cost, for that is the only way possible for multi-racial Malaysia to continue as a progressive and peaceful nation. As the saying goes, unity begets prosperity.

We must learn to respect others and avoid words that hurt. In dealing with inter-racial relationships, sincerity is the single most effective formula to enhance our brotherhood. Bear in mind that, in this information technology-savvy era, we must exercise even more seIf-discipline in uttering our words to prevent unnecessary racial distrust and public uproar.

As a result of declining oil prices, the world economic outlook becomes uncertain and Malaysia is equally affected. But rest assured that the Government has been proactively handling the situation. Our Prime Minister, YAB Dato' Seri Mohd Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak has recently revised the Budget 2015 and introduced measures to manage expenses for us to weather the storm.

In these trying times, I urge all Malaysians to remain united with even more determination, resilience and assertiveness in order to be better prepared for the upcoming challenges and opportunities.

Drive carefully and enjoy a cheerful festive season. Gong Xi Fa Cai and may the Year of Goat bring you good fortune and good health.
