Congratulations to Mohamad Ridzuan Mohamad Puzi and Muhammad Ziyad Zolkefli for making the nation proud by winning the Gold Medal in the Rio Paralympics in Brazil. It has been a historic day for Malaysia.
These two world class atheletes has proven that their disability is no barrier for them to achieve success in the olympics. Even more memorable is the achievement of Muhammad Ziyad Zolkefli who recorded a new world record in the Men’s Shot Put F20 (intellectual disability) event.
These two young men has made the country proud by ensuring that the National Anthem is being played and the National Flag is displayed at the Rio Paralympics on the winners podium for the first time in our history.
I humbly hope the success of these national heroes are recognised by the government and the promised incentives is given to them in light of their efforts in Rio. What they have achieved is truly remarkable.
My advise to young Malaysians, emulate the success of Mohamad Ridzuan and Muhammad Ziyad as they have proven that nothing is impossible to achieve if we have put our hearts and soul into it. I hope they will become role models for our younger generation.
