Controversial news channel, CNN, which has come in for high criticism for its irresponsible reporting on the MH370 incident has today again created controversy when its reporter Nic Robertson created a commotion at the Defense Service Asia 2014 exhibition at PWTC.
Nic Robertson, who is CNN senior international correspondent had confronted Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein and demanded that the Acting Transport Minister/Defence Minister answer his questions. The behaviour of Nic Robertson, in my opinion is just rude and sums up the behavior of most foreign journalists who thinks that Malaysia is obliged to answer any of their questions.
Fortunately, as a sovereign state with its own laws, the government is obliged to maintain and defend the country security and not divulge it to any third party, which in this case, CNN.
To further prove that CNN has been irresponsible in its reporting, On Thursday, CNN had quoted a senior Malaysian government official as saying that the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) had scrambled search aircraft at 8am on March 8 to look for MH370.
However, CNN did not divulge the details of who this Senior Malaysian Government is. In my opinion, CNN was just "fishing" for news from the Malaysian authorities as they did not have any insider information on the search and rescue mission.
Due to the irresponsible report by CNN, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin denied the CNN report via a tweet sent out by his communications team the next day.
The RMAF also issued a statement on Friday evening denying the CNN report.

FYI that is how the super ego CNN operates . CNN think they are a super power broadcast country- such delusions of grandeur.
What they are doing is typical - try and force governments and reps into a corner till you submit to them- 'give me exclusive news or I will keep running you down'. DO NOT SUBMIT TO THEM. DS HISHAM , PM and the Msian team- your are doing good , improving and will get better.
Better still ask them to get some info out of Boeing. Why are they protecting Boeing? Whya re they allowing Boeing to hide under American power and evade questions . Boeing knows what no country would know. And Boeing is part of American govt silent technology partner for modern warfare.
Tell CNN revisit September 11- how did American National security react. How long before they started making sense?
Read their reports when everything was in complete confusion for 96 hours- this is the most powerful country in the world stunned into silence - and the inept handling and the different versions ... all too familiar.
No, we are not faulting them. But the Americans know what we are going thru. And with their hindsight - yes they can afford to criticise us. But we can tell them to bugger off.
