#KLChronicle : Today morning we took the liberty to whack the useless Chief Minister of Penang, Lim Guan Eng for being a "cry baby" in blaming the Federal Government, especially Transport Minister Dato' Sri Liow Tiong Lai for Star Cruises’ decision to leave Penang. As explained earlier, the decision by the company (Star Cruise) is purely a business decision and has got nothing to do with politics.
As usual, Lim Guan Eng, knowing very well that people will whack him for his failure to maintain investment in Penang, started to blame Dato' Sri Liow Tiong Lai for his (Guan Eng's) failures. After we had whacked Guan Eng, the Penang MCA State Liaison Committee Deputy Chairman Tan Teik Cheng also defended Dato' Sri Liow Tiong Lai and released a press statement. We at #KLChronicle would like to thank Tan Teik Cheng for his effort.
We believe that it is time that the people start to realize that Lim Guan Eng is not so great and he has been using the media to paint himself and his government of being "great" when in fact what they do is politicize everything that is happening in the state without doing "actual" work on the ground. Take for instance the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) published statistics showing that Penang’s FDI had nose-dived 82% from RM10.45 billion in 2010 to only RM1.79 billion in 2013, why did he keep silent on this?

Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng clearly is playing the blame game again when he demanded an explanation from MCA President and Transport Minister Dato’ Sri Liow Tiong Lai as to why his Ministry did not make an effort to entice Star Cruises SuperStar Libra to stay put in Penang.
This is proof that ‘old habits die hard’, as Lim will always claim credit to himself but push the blame to others over any shortcomings.
Star Cruises’ decision to leave Penang is a straight-forward investment strategic decision. It has been reported that the cruise liner ‘SuperStar Libra’ had ceased its operations in Penang since 15 July, and will turn to Hong Kong with an eye on Xiamen. There are also talks that it will be plying the Taiwan-Japan route.
Industrial sources have also revealed that the withdrawal of Star Cruises will not bring much impact to the Penang economy, as its passenger load is only 20% more than the gaming ships currently operating in the state. Obviously, Lim has his own hidden agenda by exaggerating the effects.
For him, any happenings in the state, whether good or bad, can be transformed into political issues. All positive events will be attributed to himself, whereas all negativities are the fault of the Federal Government, or the previous BN state government.
When Penang’s foreign direct investment (FDI) topped the national list for two consecutive years in 2010 and 2011, Lim magnified it by many folds and claimed credit for himself.
However, when the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) published statistics showing that Penang’s FDI had nose-dived 82% from RM10.45 billion in 2010 to only RM1.79 billion in 2013, Lim chose to keep mum about it. Whose responsibility was that? Certainly Lim will blame it on BN.
SuperStar Libra has been docking at Penang Port for five years since 2010. Sadly, the extra revenue derived from this went unnoticed by Lim who did not even consider to thank the Federal Government for its generosity. Yet when the cruise liner left, a suddenly awoken Lim conveniently blamed the Federal Government.
Records also show that from November 2013 to April 2014, Lim and his state Exco members had gone overseas for visits, trade missions and seminars totalling twenty times, with Phee Boon Poh topping the list at five times. Total expenses worth RM611,051.47 were entirely paid for by the state government. More recently in January and March, Lim also went to Shanghai and Berlin, yet despite all this, Penang’s FDI continues to plummet. Thus, what does Lim have to say about this?
