@dapmalaysia labels PAS leaders "a bunch of hypocrites"

PAS must stick to its principles by having its three Selangor executive councillors resign since the Islamist party officially cut ties with the DAP, Selangor DAP has said.

The Star daily reported today Selangor DAP vice-chairman Datuk Teng Chang Khim, who is also a Selangor executive councillor, as saying that it is PAS, and not Selangor Mentri Besar Azmin Ali from PKR, who should make the decision for the three Selangor executive councillors to leave the state administration after the PAS syura council formally decided Saturday to end the Islamist party’s alliance with the DAP.

“They have to be consistent and principled, otherwise they are just hypocrites,” Teng was quoted saying.

The three Selangor executive councillors from PAS are Selangor PAS commissioner Datuk Iskandar Abdul Samad, Datuk Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi and Zaidy Talib.

Iskandar, however, said PAS would continue serving in the state government together with the DAP.

“The ties and cooperation in the state government based on positions such as executive councillors, local councillors and village headmen will continue in line with the people’s mandate in the 13th general election,” Iskandar was quoted saying by The Star.

PAS and the DAP hold 15 seats each in the 56-seat Selangor legislative assembly, while PKR and Barisan Nasional have 13 and 12 seats respectively, and the remaining seat is held by Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim who turned independent after PKR sacked him.

DAP and PKR combined only control 28 seats, half of the Selangor legislative assembly.
