WORLD EXCLUSIVE : World Federation of Liberalism confirms Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as a "Prominent Liberal" from Malaysia



All EC participants are invited to attend two consecutive panels on ‘Promoting Subsidiarity: Learning from National and European Examples’ and Ralf Dahrendorf Roundtable on TTIP*, entitled ‘Global Implications for a Transatlantic Treaty?’ Both panels are organised with assistance of the European Liberal Forum (LI partner).

In the afternoon LI President, Dr. Juli Minoves, will preside over the session titled ‘Reflection on the Oxford Conference – special debate with the membership’, which took place earlier this year in March.

High-ranking liberals from around the world will lead this membership discussion, including the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Anne Brasseur MP of Demokratesch Partei, Luxembourg (LI full member); Leader of the Opposition in Malaysia, Dr. Wan Azizah MP of PKR (LI member); while the former Prime Minister of Guinea, Cellou Dalein Diallo of UFDG (LI full member), will address the topic of ‘Liberalism and Development’.




Minister of Defence of Georgia, Tinatin Khidasheli of RPG (full member), and leader of the major opposition party in Nicaragua, Eduardo Montealegre of PLI (full member) will speak on ‘Liberalism and Security’ and ‘Liberalism and the Economy’ respectively.

After the Administrative Session of the Executive Committee Meeting, all delegates are cordially invited to the apéro reception (kindly hosted by APCO Worldwide) and the awarding ceremony of the 2015 LI Prize for Freedom to Lord John Alderdice for the instrumental role he plays in promoting peace, democracy, and human rights on an international level.
