RapidKL Monorail Resumes Normal Service Cc @MyRapidKL

Monorail back in service between Hang Tuah and Imbi stations

KUALA LUMPUR, 16 July -- RapidKL Monorail service has resumed normal service after the sector between Hang Tuah and Imbi stations, which was closed since July 2 on safety precautions due to sink holes that occurred in area, had been declared safe for travel.

Announcing this today, RapidKL Monorail Chief Operating Officer Encik Abdul Hadi Amran, normal services had resumed since 4pm and that they had since adding more trains for full service.

“We have been given the green light by our consultant to resume normal service between Hang Tuah and Imbi. We are in the process of injecting more trains onto the mainline,” he said in a statement.

In the interest of safety, the Fire and Rescue Services Department on July 2 had directed RapidKL Monorail to temporarily suspend the monorail service between the Imbi and Hang Tuah monorail stations due to the sinkholes that occurred at the DBKL underpass project near the Jalan Pudu and Jalan Hang Tuah junction that day.
