MEDIA STATEMENT : @MyRapidKL monorail shuttle service to continue Monday

RapidKL would continue to operate the monorail shuttle service between the KL Sentral and Hang Tuah monorail stations; and between the Imbi and Titiwangsa monorail stations on Monday.

Rapid Rail CEO Haji Khairani Mohamed said results of the computerised data analysis on the integrity of the guideway between the Hang Tuah and Imbi monorail stations would only be known on Monday afternoon.

“Our consultant has been gathering data from monitoring devices the past several days following request from the Fire and Rescue Services Department for us to temporarily suspend the monorail service between the Imbi and Hang Tuah monorail stations due to the sinkholes that occurred at the DBKL underpass project near the Jalan Pudu and Jalan Hang Tuah junction last Thursday.

“While the sector between the Imbi and Hang Tuah monorail stations remains closed temporarily, we have received the green light from the authorities to operate the sectors between KL Sentral and Hang Tuah and between Imbi and Titiwangsa, said Khairani, adding that commuter safety remains a priority for RapidKL.

Khairani suggested that commuters to plan their journey as the monorail shuttle service that would operate from a single platform might be congested and experience minor delay.

“We wish to request commuters to adhere to the announcements that would be made via the platform public address system from time-to-time to ensure a more comfortable journey,” added Khairani, who is also Prasarana Group Director for Rail Division.
