| The new Ampang LRT Parking Complex |
The much-awaited multi-million ringgit Ampang Multi-Level Car Park, which provides park and travel solutions for the high density Ampang residential areas, is now opened and offering free parking until the end of the month.
"We are proud to announce that the park and ride facility at Ampang Multi-Level Car Park is now opened for public use since June 1. In promoting the facility, we are currently offering free parking for our LRT users until June 30," says Encik Rudyanto Azhar (pic), the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Prasarana Integrated Development Sdn Bhd (Pride).
A subsidiary of Syarikat Prasarana Negara Berhad (Prasarana), Pride is set up by the Group to manage businesses related to property development, advertising and commercial areas including management of the parking facilities.
"With the opening of the complex, we hope that it would boost the ridership figures for RapidKL Ampang Line, which manages a ridership of more than 200,000 passengers daily. We hope more people to switch to public transport and adopt the park and ride attitude for smoother and hassle-free travel into the city.
"Everybody in Kuala Lumpur knows Jalan Ampang's traffic nightmare especially during the morning and evening peak hours. And, it gets worse when there's rain. With the park and ride facilities, they can escape this jam by using our LRT," added Rudyanto.
Situated next to RapidKL Ampang LRT Station, the facility is five-storey complex that provides 1,140 parking bays for cars including 144 bays exclusively for ladies and 20 for those with disability plus 200 motorcycle bays on the ground floor.
With identical facilities with Gombak Multi-Level Car Park that was opened in February last year, the Ampang parking complex is equipped with state-of-the art facilities like Parking Lane Terminal, Parking Centralized Monitoring System, Equipment Monitoring System, Parking Guidance System, Fault Detection System, security cameras, panic button for cases of emergencies and a control centre for operations, management and maintenance works.
As practiced for Gombak Multi-Level Parking Complex, the system is operated by using MyRapid Card only for entry and exit with payment deducted from the stored value.
Parking charges will be imposed from July 1.

Dear Sir,
As a humble person, I would like to recommend for a betterment of the services rendered to public among others are:
1. To install 'Fish Eye Mirror' at the ramp of each floor at Park n Ride Complex Ampang LRT Station to avoid unnecessary incident during In/Out flow of vehicles.
2. To consider a new approach of the fares system which combines both for train and parking bay rental. This will somehow encourage the public to drive and park their vehicles as well as optimizing the parking bay surplus which are unused especially at level 3, 4 and 5.
