In an unprecedented move, Dato' Abdul Rahman Dahlan, the Minister of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government today made a suprise visit to Pangsapuri Nusa Kurnia where he attended the Joint Management Building (JMB) committee meeting.
The objective of the visit to Pangsapuri Nusa Kurnia JMB's meeting was to see personally how the JMB has been performing and to adopt their best practices to other JMB's in the country.
In addition to that, the visit was also conducted to hear personally any issues or problems that Pangsapuri Nusa Kurnia have in their daily life which could be solved by the ministry.
Alhamdulillah, during the visit Dato Rahman Dahlan has agreed to provide immediate funding to Pangsapuri Nusa Kurnia JMB to solve the following issues:
1. Erection of new fences and repair or replacement of old ones.
2. Installation of grating at all exposed drainage systems.
Personally, I think the suprise visit by Dato' Rahman Dahlan to Pangsapuri Nusa Kurnia JMB's meeting shows his commitment to address any issues that affect his ministry on the spot rather than waiting for official reports etc.
Furthermore the suprise visit reflects the commitment by the government to place the people well being and interest as the most important priority. Where people first policies are planned and implemented vigorously to meet this aspiration.
Before I end this article, I will not be doing any justice to the folks at Pangsapuri Nusa Kurnia if I do not share with my readers who they are. Please find below their background:
1. JMB consist of various races Malay, Chinese and Indians which reflects the "masyarakat majmuk" nature of our country.
2. The Ahli Jawatan kuasa (AJK) are part-timers and have full time job during the day.
3. Focus on cleanliness and uses subtle form of persuasion to persuade residence from throwing rubbished at not designated places.
4. Available units 200, 88 are resided by owners and remaining are rented out.
5. The 102 units are rented by 88 Malaysians and 10 foreigners, with 4 unit vacant.
6. Maintenence fee RM40, with 85% payment rate.
7. Communication are done by house visits, not SMS, Whatsapp or emails.
8. All complaints by residents are solved in 24 hours.
9. 1 unit is 650sqft , with 3 rooms 2 bathrooms.
Personally, the JMB of Pangsapuri Nusa Kurnia has done a fantastic job and shall be commended for their efforts.
