Barisan Nasional (BN) has conceded defeat in the Kajang by-election, minutes before official results were announced by the Election Commission, confirms it has regain back Chinese support.
Its candidate Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun said although the ruling coalition was not able to wrest the urban mixed seat from PKR, she was happy that Chinese voters had started to return to BN.
"Although BN is not successful in this by-election, but we are successful in reducing the majority and at the same time, obtain more Chinese votes, from 18% in the 13th general election to 25% today," she said in a statement. – March 23, 2014.
