Media Statement by @LokmanAdam on The Issue of #KalimahAllah #KLChronicle

MEDIA STATEMENT
LOKMAN NOOR BIN ADAM
EXCO PEMUDA UMNO MALAYSIA
CALON NAIB KETUA PEMUDA UMNO MALAYSIA

Thank God,

Alhamdulillah yesterday the appeal court had rejected the application by the Roman Catholic Church to use the word "Allah" in referring to their god in The Herald Magazine. This judgement by the court is consistent with the struggle by UMNO Youth in defending the sovereignty of the religion and as the guardian of the Malay Sultanate. Personally for me this is an encouraging development in the country where the dignity and sanctity of the word "Allah" must and should be maintained at all cost.

It should be noted that in this case we should not be confused with the misinformation and propaganda by certain quarters that the word "Allah" is commonly used by the Arab Christians.

It is true, "Allah" is referred to as god in Egypt, for example, but in this case the word "Allah" was used in Bahasa Malaysia and not the Arabic language. In Bahasa Malaysia, the word "Allah" means God (Tuhan) to Muslims and is also similar to the English language in this country. That is why we can see, the speech translation in our Syahadah is written as ..

"I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad the Messenger of Allah"

Even if we look at the English translation

Allah - The name of God among Muslims (and Arab Christians).
- Oxford Dictionary Bahasa Inggeris-

It is a worry by Muslims and Malays in Peninsular Malaysia when the catholic church wants to use the word Allah in Bahasa Malaysia for their publications but use God in the English edition. Indeed, those who say that the word Allah was used by Christians in Sabah, Sarawak and Indonesia, however it should be remembered that the sanctity of Islam is in the custody of the Sultan and His Majesty the King, and we adhere to this standard under the constitution.

I feel relieved that the court has decided the right thing.

I promise and friends in UMNO Youth, the struggle will continue as long as the purity and glory of the Islamic religion is challenged by any party, We will defend our Religion, Race and Nation at all cost as we always do.
