Selangor's controversial Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim has come under fire for reversing the decision requiring state exco members to declare their assets.
State Opposition Leader Datuk Shamsuddin Lias said Khalid had broken his promise, and chided Pakatan Rakyat's "concept of transparency".
"The declaration should be made on the assets acquired before you take office, and new acquisitions made after.
"This is so that people can compare. If anything (losses or scandals) happen later on, people will get suspicious," he said in an interview on Wednesday.
Khalid was reported to have said that the decision to not make the asset declaration public was in the interest of personal security of the exco members and their families.
Shamsuddin said it was an unreasonable excuse, as there are billionaires in the country whose assets and nett worth are publicly known.
