Again DAP picks Chinese Law Choo Kiang as Penang Assembly Speaker #KLChronicle

Othman Mansor who is a muslim was rejected as the state speaker although he was proposed by the Penang State EXCO

KL Chroncle : I wonder why even when the state EXCO had unanimously proposed PKR Datuk Mansor Othman as State Speaker it was rejected by DAP & Lim Guan Eng? To us is clearly shows that DAP is just a pro Chinese party and want's its race to be dominant in the state politics at the expense of others. 

Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng will propose Bukit Tambun State Assemblyman, Law Choo Kiang as the State Assembly Speaker with Sungai Bakap State Assemblyman, Maktar Shapee, as the Deputy Speaker.

"I will propose this motion on Friday and First Deputy Chief Minister Rashid Hasnon will support it."

In a statement in Georgetown, Lim said the Penang State Executive Council had unanimously proposed Penang PKR chairman Datuk Mansor Othman as the State Assembly Speaker.

"However, after consulting with PKR adviser and opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, we agreed that Law Choo Kiang be named the State Assembly Speaker with Maktar Shapee as the Deputy Speaker."

Lim said Anwar will meet all relevant parties to explain the decision. - Bernama, June 28, 2013
