#GE13 Analysis P122 Seputeh : A humble Ms. @Nicolewong Against DAP’s @teresakok & Why I Choose @Nicolewong To Be My Member of Parliament (MP) #PRU13 #TolakPR #BetterNation

Many of us, post 2008 General Election have become more aware of the political situation in the country. Not only aware, we tend to pay more attention to the performance of our very own “Yang Berhormat” or fondly known as YBs. We demand more from them now, not only regarding local issues but also we expect them to highlight various issues that is affecting Malaysian’s in general.

In P122 Seputeh however this is not happening. This is a huge area with roughly 70,000 – 80,000 voters and stretches from Jalan Klang Lama, Taman Desa, Taman Bukit Desa and all the way to Taman Salak Jaya and Sri Petaling. It borders Parliament Bandar Tun Razak and Parliament Lembah Pantai.  The majority of the constituent in Seputeh is Malaysian Chinese, roughly about 80%. With this in mind, there is no surprise that this seat is contested by both DAP and MCA.

I don’t have any problems with having a Malaysian Chinese as my YB. As do all Malaysian, i believe what we want is that our hard earned tax money is paid to a deserving YB that provides good service that benefits the Rakyat. This is where i think my YB has FAILED tremendously. My YB, Ms Teresa Kok also holds seven (7) positions in the Federal and State Government which are:

1.             Member of Parliament for Seputeh (with allowance and salary)

2.             Kinrara Assembly woman (with allowance and salary)

3.             Selangor Senior executive Councillor (with allowance and salary)

4.             Director of PKNS  (with allowance and salary)

5.             Selangor DAP Chief

6.             National DAP organizing secretary

7.             Wanita DAP national secretary

My question is how can by having so many positions one can contribute effectively to her constituent? I am sure she does not work 24 hours a day. Just to share a bit with my readers, i have been living in Taman Desa for nearly 10 years and not even once i have seen Ms Teresa Kok in the area except during the Tang lung festival in 2012. That shows how “committed” my YB is to her constituent.

In addition, i actually don't care how many position or portfolio that Ms. Teresa Kok holds, what i care is that that Ms.Teresa Kok has also been missing from Teratak Muhibah and Taman Salak Jaya since the 2008 general election. These two (2) areas consist of about approximately 5,000 – 10,000 Muslims and Teresa Kok has never once visited these places. She can publicly rebuke me if i am wrong in this and i will apologise to her.

Now, what option do i have?

The Prime Minister has recently announced that Ms. Nicole Wong will be the candidate for Barisan Nasional (BN) in Seputeh. To know who Ms. Nicole Wong is, i asked around from friends and residents of Taman Desa and it seems that she has quite a reputation. Not arrogant or missing in action like Teresa Kok, but more of a humble and caring nature which blends well with the people of Seputeh.

Even before her named was mentioned as a candidate, she was busy making her usual rounds around the constituency to explain to the public on the various transformation program initiated by Datuk Seri Haji Najib Tun Razak. The significance of educating the public of this various programs is that they would then be able to enjoy the benefits of this programs such as BR1M, Book vouchers, Tekun loans and etc. This is what a YB shall do. To be the bridge connecting the government and the rakyat.

I will talk more about Ms. Nicole Wong in my next article. However, with what i have seen and heard, she seems to be much more humble, approachable, caring and last but not least willing to serve the rakyat properly. This is just what i need after five (5) wasted years of having an underperforming Teresa Kok in Seputeh.
