A RESPONSE TO REHDA'S STATEMENT TO THE MALAYSIAN INSIDER "Relook Bumi quota, low-cost housing policies, Putrajaya told" #1Malaysia #TolakPR

I was just about to sleep when i stumbled upon this article in @tm_insider , where REHDA, lead by its President Datuk Seri Micheal KC Yam, want the government to review housing quotas and discounts allocated to Bumiputeras and the poor, after complaining today of their "abuse". Abuse is a very strong word, and to know further how did the Bumiputera "abused" this privileged i took the opportunity to continue reading the article, but oh my was i not disappointed to find out that actually REHDA did not specify how it was abused in the first place !

OK, i might be overzealous, so with good faith i continued reading the article and there were some "great" points/proposal recommended by REHDA to the government which are:

1. The association further suggested that lots reserved for Bumiputeras be made available to the general public if there is no demand after a period of time.

Well, let's understand this demand clearly, if let say in the next 5 years, REHDA starts to build houses in Penang & Kuala Lumpur, with a starting price of say RM 400,000 (DAP's definition of a low cost house price), most of the Bumiputera i am sure will not be able to afford this price taking into consideration that most of them work in the government sector as the private sector is usually for the Non Bumi's (oh yes you need to speak mandarin in some private companies).

The impact of this, is that the Bumiputera will then need to find houses outside of city centre's, mostly semi - urban towns and the city centre will be saturated with the Non - Bumi's. A few years down the road, the aspiration of the BN led government to bring out the Bumiputera from the "kampungs" into towns 50 years ago will go down the drain as they can't afford a home in the city anymore.

2. Our request to the administration is for an auto-release mechanism,

Ok let's talk about the auto - release request by REHDA, my question is what if when a Bumiputera wants to buy a house and the developer refuses to sell to him? In the hope that when the auto release kicks in the house can be sold to a Non - Bumi. Can REHDA guarantee that this will not happen?

To my readers who will now start to complain that wait a minute, why would REHDA do that since they are selling the property anyway and make a profit, well that is where you are wrong. Here comes the 3rd demand by REHDA

3. Remove 7% if Bumiputera discount on properties

There you go, that's the answer for not selling a property to a Bumiputera but to a Non - Bumiputera, it makes REHDA richer by 7%. Let's summarize the three (3) demands by REHDA in our daily lives.

A Bumiputera family (Husband & Wife), who earns RM 10,000 a month, plan's to buy a RM 600,000 Bumi allocated house in Bukit Jelutong. The BN government policy allows them to get a discount of 7%, which is about RM42,000 thus the house will now cost RM 558,000. However, REHDA, does not want to sell this how to the Bumiputera couple because they want to wait for the auto - release mechanism, and then sell the house to a Non - Bumi for RM 600,000. This in return will result a Bumiputera couple not being able to buy a property not only in this situation, but in most cases later on just because of REHDA greed and racist demands.

Therefore, to the Bumiputera's, do you want this to happen? I am not here to advice you whatsoever, but the election is just around the corner and vote wisely, i am sure you know who to trust and who not to.
