@mediaumno : HARGA TOL KL - SEREMBAN DIKURANGKAN $0.60

The toll rate for the North-South Expressway from Kuala Lumpur to Seremban will be lower by 60sen from the current rate when a new multilevel interchange at the Seremban Toll Plaza is completed, said Deputy Works Minister Datuk Yong Khoon Seng.

He said that with the toll reduction at the new toll plaza, the rate would be RM6.60 instead of RM7.20 because the highway distance between Kuala Lumpur-Seremban would be shortened as by the yet-to-be-built RM116.7mil interchange would be located well before the current toll plaza.

He was replying to a supplementary question by Loke Siew Fook (DAP-Rasah) on whether it was fair for government funds to be used to build the multilevel toll plaza in Seremban.

When replying to the original question, Yong dismissed Loke's statement that the government had funded the new interchange project in Seremban as it was financed by Plus itself.

In the original question, Loke wanted the Works Minister to state the latest status of the new Seremban Toll Plaza.

Work on the new interchange has been delayed by land acquisition problems but is expected to begin by the end of the year and be completed in a year. Bernama
