Putrajaya, as the venue for the Million Youth Assembly (MYA) or Himpunan Belia Negara (HBN) 2012 is a buzz with numerous activities such as concerts, exhibitions, festivals, and etc. To further enhanced the hype and excitement, yesterday a convoy of 100 cars and 50 motorcycles gathered to promote the program.
The convoy, comprising members of 18 car and motorcycle clubs and associations, were flagged off by Youth and Sports Department Director General Datuk Borhan Abdullah at the ministry. Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek, deputy ministers Datuk Razali Ibrahim and Gan Ping Shou, and Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi joined the convoy. The participants of the convoy include members of the Kuala Lumpur Lamborghini Club, Blue Jacket, Honda Club, Exora Club, Myvi Club and etc.
The MYA is set to be among the 10 largest gathering of youths in the world with some 38 segments or activities spread over a 6 km route and 24 booths put up for the 5-day event which started yesterday.
The activities include recreation, performing arts, 4 x 4 international challenge, young entrepreneur, camping and jamboree etc. Malaysia, as a diverse country, will also promote the Chinese culture through the Chinese cultural village.
The MYA is to be launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak this Saturday.
