PM @NajibRazak : Only Barisan can bring change and progress #BersamaBN #GelombangBiru #TolakPH

Only Barisan Nasional is serious in delivering change and progress to the people, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

He said the opposition is merely chasing personal agendas and playing up slogans to toy with the people's sentiments.

"We have to choose a party that can change our lives, not toy with our sentiments."

"If we think using our minds, there's only one party that can improve and change our lives," Najib said in his speech while officiating the newly completed Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampung Bahagia in Batu Sapi, about 11km from Sandakan on Monday.

Najib urged the people to repeat the full victory for Barisan candidates in the coalition's stronghold of Batu Sapi parliamentary seat and the two state seats under it, Sekong and Kamunting, as seen in 2013, when Barisan snapped up the three seats.

Also present was Sabah Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman, Batu Sapi MP Datuk Linda Tsen Thau Lin, Deputy Chief Minister and Sekong assemblyman Datuk Seri Samsudin Yahya, as well as Barisan Karamunting state seat candidate newcomer Lim Kai Min from the Liberal Democratic Party.

Najib, who is on his third visit to Batu Sapi, said his frequent trips to Sabah reflected his consideration and commitment to the state.

"I've been here more often in nine years compared to someone who was in office for 22 years, but never grew on Sabahans," he said, alluding to former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who is now leading opposition front Pakatan Harapan.

At the event, it was also announced that over a thousand members from three opposition parties had jumped ship to Barisan.

They were 754 members from Parti Warisan Sabah, 156 members from Parti Kerjasama Anak Negeri and another 120 members from Sabah STAR.

Come May 9, Batu Sapi, will see a four-cornered tussle between two-term incumbent Tsen, Sabah Parti Amanah Negara president Datuk Hamzah Abdullah, PAS candidate Nosrah Bongsu, and Parti Warisan Sabah's Datuk Liew Vui Keong, a former LDP president.
