Netizen slams @cmlimguaneng for "No AES in Penang" remark @MOTMalaysia @LiowTiongLai

Playing politics at the expense of people's safety
Netizens were up in arms yesterday in criticizing Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, who had said that there will be no AES cameras to be installed in Penang. According to some facebook accounts of social activist and Non - Governmental Organisation (NGOs), the statement by Lim Guan Eng is nothing more than a political stunt at the expense of the safety of the public and tourist in Penang.

What is more shocking is that Lim Guan Eng had the audacity to blame Ministers for accidents that happened in the state. Quoting the Chief Minister:
"We know accidents happened. But that is because the Minister is not working!" Lim was quoted in the Facebook posting.
In fact, the statement from Lim Guan Eng defies logic. i.e.:
'he is not going to allow speed cameras in Penang because it is Ministers who don’t work who cause traffic accidents and not bad drivers,'.
According to research by the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety (Miros) showed that an average of of 18 people were killed on Malaysian roads daily amounting to close to 7,000 deaths per year from a population of just over 30 million. In Penang itself, total no of accidents 42,244 with the no of deaths at 411 people.

The conclusion that Guan Eng made has shown that he is not fit in being a responsible Chief Minister. He is more interested to play politics, making empty promises, attacking the government but fail in administering the state effectively. In Penang,  flooding has been a normal occurrence where resident's properties have been damaged resulting in millions of ringgit in loses.

The cost of living since 2008 has also increased tremendously. House prices for example has skyrocketed in Penang until local residents have had to move out of the island to the mainland just to be able to afford a small home for their family. Due to the high property prices and house rentals, most family is struggling to put food on the table. This is what the Chief Minister shall focus on rather than playing politics and jeopardizing the safety of the public.

The government is trying to reduce the number of road deaths but Lim Guan Eng is more interested in playing politics. Stupid Chief Minister.
