SPAD CONFIRMS APPROVAL FOR OPENING OF KELANA JAYA AND AMPANG LRT LINE EXTENSION PROJECT ‪#‎LEPRapidKL‬

Suruhanjaya Pengangkutan Awam Darat (SPAD) confirms that Prasarana Rail and Infrastructure Projects Sdn Bhd has been granted all approvals required to commence operations of the Kelana Jaya and Ampang Line Extension Project (LEP). The LEP will be launched by Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak on 30 June 2016.

As part of the application, all documentation was submitted by Prasarana to SPAD on 16 June 2016. This includes the Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC) a document issued by the architect supervising the project, as part of a conditional requirement when submitting an application for the opening of a new line, said SPAD Chief Executive Officer Mohd Azharuddin Mat Sah.

“SPAD has reviewed and approved Prasarana’s application as they have complied with all requirements under the Land Public Transport Act 2010,” he said.

“We further clarify that the submission of the CCC by Prasarana to Majlis Perbandaran Subang Jaya (MPSJ) is for endorsement and this has been duly completed. SPAD remains the final authority to approve the opening of new lines,” he said.

“In facilitating seamless connectivity for commuters, Prasarana has assured SPAD that it will mitigate parking facilities at Station 4 (Subang Jaya) and Station 7 (USJ 7) of the Kelana Jaya Line LEP swiftly by working with property developers and landowners in the said areas,” he added.
