In a move to sabotage the Sungai Besar by-election and ensure both PAS & PAN lose to Barisan Nasional, Selangor Menteri Besar has stop all funding to PAS & PAN candidates and its election machinery.
The move was done as a subtle attempt by Azmin to ensure that the Wan Azizah - Nurul Izzah - Rafizi Ramli alliance takes the blame if the opposition loses the by-election to Barisan Nasional. If you remember, Azmin all along wanted PKR to contest the seat but this was not agreed by the Wan Azizah - Nurul Izzah - Rafizi Ramli alliance as a win for PKR will strengthen Azmin Ali's position in the state.
In a direct hit back at Azmin and to weaken his team, on June 1, PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said her party had decided it was better for Azmin not to be present at any of Pakatan Harapan functions so as to maintain harmony within the Selangor government that still had PAS representatives in it.
It looks like the fight in PKR is getting worse and it is only a matter of months before the party splits into two as what happened to PAS previously. Will Azmin lead a splinter team out of PKR and start a new party? Only time will tell.
