Press Statement by MIC Putera Chief M. Uvaraja

PRESS STATEMENT BY NATIONAL PUTERA MIC CHIEF

With regards to the racial remark thrown at polytechnic students in Shah Alam, I contacted the students immediately when it was brought to my attention. I then called the Director of the polytechnic involved for an immediate action and I was informed that the guard was terminated after learning and investigating the incident. I've also requested an incident report from the polytechnic.

Such issues should never happen especially in centres of education. I'm glad for the quick action which was taken to match the seriousness of the issue. Being a Malaysians is also about respecting other people's race and religion. Let such action be a lesson to those who tend to disrespect the very heart of being a Malaysian. Malaysia and Malaysians will not tolerate racism.

In addition to the above press statement, Selangor MIC Youth team led by State chief Kajendran Doraisamy, National Mic Youth Council member Mr. Selvaraju Krishnan, Thiripurabavan Muniandy,M.s. Kumar and Subash Chandrabose Arumugam Pillai met the authorities and the students for investigation.

The polytechnic sacked the involved security guard. This will be good lesson to those corrupting national harmony among Malaysians.

We thank National Putra Chief Mr Uvaraja Maniam for the quick action which was taken to match the seriousness of the issue by contacting Director of Polytechnic before the issue gone worst.

We also thank National MIC Youth Leader Mr.Sivaraajh Sivarraajh Chandran for his quick response on this matter.
