11 Taxi Drivers Caught for Violent Conduct Against Enforcement Officers

Today morning i had wrote something with respect to the attitude and behavior of certain taxi drivers in the country who had threatened to harm the Public Transport Commission (SPAD) enforcement officers. The previous articles can be read [HERE].  Based on the paper above, the personnel who had harmed the SPAD officers in Langkawi has been arrested.

Personally, this is a good move by the Police since the action taken by the Police can be a deterrent to taxi drivers for them to behave themselves when being inspected by SPAD enforcement officers. The taxi drivers have to realize that the SPAD officers are only doing their job and it is nothing personal. The taxi drivers have a responsibility to be good taxi drivers to their passengers and the SPAD enforcement officers are there to ensure that this is being done.

For us public transport users, i hope and pray that SPAD enforcement officers continue to do round the clock check on errant taxi drivers to ensure that their services are up to the mark. This will greatly benefit the public who will then in return support the government. We have heard numerous counts of how taxi drivers misbehave with their passengers and this has to stop.
