PART 1 : THE LIES, DISTORTION AND MISREPRESENTATIONS OF @rafiziramli #1Malaysia #TolakFitnah #TolakPR

In the first place, there was never 5,000 acres given for free to National Feedlot Corporation (NFCorp) for the National Feedlot Centre (NFC) project as claimed by the opposition.

There was also never a production target of 330,000 heads of cattle in the beef project implementation. There was also never an outright cash purchase for a Mercedes car. There were also none of the frivolous travels as alleged. There was also never any loans taken on eight KL Eco City office lots leveraged on NFC. BUT there were certainly enough lies, distortions and misrepresentations by PKR Strategy Director Rafizi Ramli to create public outrage and instigate the government into charging NFCorp’s chairman. Rafizi in a tweet confirmed this claim. Blogger journo Fabiani Azmi has the truth and shares it here. Sense and sensibility must prevail.

Some repentance is much needed here from the opposition for the dastardly falsehoods expounded and propagated against the NFC project and NFCorp in the last 12 months.

In the dozens of lies propagated by Rafizi Ramli since the NFC was raised to the public eye, we would appear to have a serial killer on the loose. Under orders from his political master, Rafizi for a start, killed a national food security project and set Malaysians back by 10 years in meeting the government’s objectives for its National Meat Policy (Ruminant Sector) 2006.

This policy would have ensured Malaysia is self sufficient in beef and that Malaysians are not deprived in times of hardships, calamities, sanctions or wars. It was anticipated that by 2015, Malaysia would be 40 per cent self sufficient in beef. The NFC project was mooted by the government and by 2010, progress towards this goal was soon becoming a reality when 8,897 heads of cattle had been imported, 11 per cent above the target number.

  

But no, Rafizi was determined at bringing down this project. Political observers believe it was more at bringing down Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, the Wanita chief of UMNO who commands a loyal following of over 1.3 million women members – all of whom are likely to hobble the opposition’s road to Putrajaya. Shahrizat is married to the chairman of NFCorp. Many know of her strong popularity and despite the NFC story, she remains elegantly in control of a women force that is to be reckoned. The women are seen to play a pivotal role to tip the scales for Prime Minister Dato Sri Najib.

So a rampage of lies began on the orders of Rafizi’s political master – Anwar Ibrahim who is resolute to capture Putrajaya at all costs and means.

Rafizi lied to Malaysians when he said the production numbers for the NFC project had failed. At the height of Rafizi’s noise, he lied that the annual NFC production target was 330,000 heads of cattle. Where this number was deduced from, one could only conclude that Rafizi had never really seen the Implementation Agreement signed between NFCorp and the Malaysian Government to offer the truth. In his deliberate miscalculated haste, Rafizi had told Malaysians that 330,000 cattle were the expected production numbers for NFCorp. However, according to the Implementation Agreement sighted, the planned targets for NFCorp were 8,000 heads of cattle for 2010 which was to progressively grow to 60,000 heads of cattle by 2013 (see pic). And if the contract farmers under the Entrepreneur Development Programme are given a chance to participate, it was planned that there would be a cumulative 246,000 heads of cattle by 2015.

Where Rafizi had plucked his exaggerated 330,000 heads was an attempt to dramatise NFC in bad light in its infant years. This lie to stir public concern and condemnation is evident of Rafizi’s political manipulation to garner votes for Anwar Ibrahim to Putrajaya. The NFC project had only just begun and like any other 30-year concession, it would take time for optimum numbers to be attained. Even expressways take time to reach optimum traffic throughput. Call it ‘infanticide’ if you may since the NFC project was attacked hardly had it a chance to grow.

Going on his political momentum to further rile Malaysians for even more votes, Rafizi made a sensation of NFCorp acquiring a Mercedes. Rafizi alluded that the purchase amounting to RM534,000 was paid in full from NFC funds. This was never the case and far from the truth. The writer was shown that the Mercedes was acquired through hire-purchase with a mere 10 per cent down payment made by its company, Real Food Company Sdn Bhd (RFC). And the downpayment for this was paid from the profits generated from the sale of beef and not directly from the NFC loan. RFC’s income for 2010 was in double digits.

Frankly, these days just about everybody has a Mercedes. If you look to your left or to the right on the expressway, you would encounter not one but several breezing pass you. Rafizi need not look far from his neighbourhood either. PKR MP for Ampang Zuraida Kamaruddin who only four years ago was driving a MyVi, now cruises in a fleet of cars to include her latest Mercedes. And Zuraida is only an opposition MP who earns a cumulative salary and allowances of RM12,000 a month. What are her other legal sources of income to support her fleet of vehicles? Will Rafizi Ramli fuss about this? And so should the MACC and LHDN.
